Finally I am back to this website, so this time we are going to talk about great dinner place I found recently in Prague center. It is worth mentioning that such spot will be interesting for all fans of Asian cuisine, so if you are into that, then keep reading. I hope gradually reports will come back and will be published more often, so stay tuned 🙂
Location
This place is not that far from Vystaviste, but you can also reach it on several tram routes. Car parking might be a bit problematic, but it is possible to find some spot if you do slow cruising around the area. In the worst case you can drop your car in the shopping mall nearby and walk for several minutes.
Interior
Restaurant is placed in basement space, so you will have to walk some stairs. Unfortunately, there is no elevator for handicapped. Note that there are two areas available – one inside right at the entrance, and another one outside in the small garden. It might get a bit hot inside, and you will smell food from the kitchen, so make your choice accordingly.
Most of the table spaces are twin-spots, but I think it is not difficult to join those together if needed. We sat right at the entrance, but there are also speakers installed, so loud music might get tiresome after a short period of time.
Service
Staff in this restaurant is quite friendly and cheerful. In my opinion it is a great difference from a typical experience in Prague. They speak English and ready to help with the choice. Overall speed of cooking was also great, and here we can talk about food.
You can pay with card here, so it won’t be a problem for the fans of cashless operations.
Food
For the drink I ordered Matcha Cold Lemonade. It turned out to be quite good, even though color might look a bit dim on the photos.
For the main dish I ordered poke with bucek. I have to note that even portion might look small on the photo, it was just right size for the dinner. Meat was well-fried and really tender, rice was also nice. There is also a sauce underneath, but it would be cool to get some soya and maybe chili hot sauce on the table as standard serving.
Another dish was duck ramen, which was also quite good. It is served with separate broth which is poured during serving the plate on the table.
Small note should be made about takeaway products. Yes, you can order all of the menu items for takeaway, but restaurant also offers some frozen dumplings for home or even kimchi. You can see some of this stuff on the photos above.
Overall Impression
I can say that Tepla Kacka is one of the best Asian restaurants in Prague so far. If you are looking for not too fancy place with good food and nice atmosphere – then this one is definitely worth checking out. Yes, there are some minor things which could be improved, but overall impression is great, and I will come back there in the future.
P.S.: all photos are made on iPhone. 🙂
