Today we are going to talk about one unusual park in Prague. It is placed right within tram reach, so you won’t have to leave the city. Vrch Tresnovka might be a perfect spot to go to in June and here I will tell you why.
As I said, this park can be reached on tram and then you will have to walk just for 3-5 minutes. Bus/tram stop name is Spojovace, there are several options available. You can also drive there on car, just leave it on Kaufland parking and walk 3 minutes. Yes, that bus stop and supermarket are approximately on the same position. 🙂
Main “feature” of this park – cherry trees which grow there in crazy amounts. Entrance is free, so you can take a small bag with you, pick some cherries and eat more during the process. Some people come there just to relax on the sun because park is situated on the hilltop. Small note: park was renovated in 2015 when government added 450 trees.
Yes, some of them are quite tall and I am sure that you will see the best cherries on the highest branches. You can rent ladder for this – it costs 50 kc and let’s you reach higher. Just make sure to be safe and maybe bring somebody with you to hold this ladder. Another option is to bring your own if you have one.
Sometimes you can also rent special stick to reach for branches, but here you should be extra careful. Thin branches are easy to break and it is not good to just walk around harming the trees. Be responsible and if you see that this branch won’t budge – don’t try to apply force. Check other trees – maybe there you will find something interesting.
On the opposite end of park you can find drinks and fast-food stand. There are also cherry sellers for those who would like to have one basket immediately. Prices are quite reasonable, so it is up to you. You can also pick some food and drinks in Kaufland where you will have bigger choice.
As for the park, it is recommended place to spend some time on the sun. There are not that many benches, so I recommend to take some towel with you or just sit on grass. Vrch Tresnovka is a decent place to spend your weekend if you enjoy being around nature and don’t want to leave Prague. 🙂
